Our Handprint Sofa
The breath of yesterday seeps into today.
My fears and desires approach
at the same speed
I pray the slap of time will be softer:
I know it won't.
There will be a tomorrow
without you, and there
is nothing we can do
Let's split this orange, right in half,
I bought it for
this moment.
It won't taste right tomorrow,
you might've packed all the flavors and
memories in your
toiletries bag.
I know how this story goes.
Promise l'll be okay only if you are.
I'll avoid myself, hide behind
busyness
and noise,
I'll meet new people and I'll search for you in every one of them.
