
Silhouette Literary and Arts Magazine is currently accepting editor applications for the 2022-23 academic year!
Below is a list of open positions.
We encourage you to send in an application even if you are unsure of which role you would like to take on.

W E ' R E L O O K I N G F O R . . .
You're in charge of running our social media, which consists of our Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook pages, as well as our website. You're an individual who is able to consistently produce content and manage these platforms in order to achieve a wider outreach on Virginia Tech's campus.
You're responsible for creating all of our promotional content, which includes (but is not limited to): merchandise, magazine layout, submission campaign material, and event flyers. You're a creative individual with a comprehensive knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign. (Candidates without Adobe Creative Suite knowledge will be considered, but it is highly recommended.)
You'll write weekly articles for Silhouette's blog. You will have creative liberty to write about your passions, experiences, and creative events happening on Virginia Tech's campus. The goal of our blog is to engage students with weekly content that is relevant to their college experience.
You're in charge of campaigning for submissions and selecting the highest quality photos to be featured in the magazine. You should have background knowledge in different photographic techniques and styles.
You're in charge of campaigning for submissions and selecting the highest quality art and design pieces to be featured in the magazine. You should have background knowledge in different art and design techniques and styles.
You're in charge of campaigning for submissions and selecting the highest quality writings to be featured in the magazine. You should have background knowledge in different prose styles and techniques.
You're in charge of campaigning for submissions and selecting the highest quality poems to be featured in the magazine. You should have background knowledge in different poetic styles and techniques and be prepared to read a high volume of submissions, as this is one of our most popular categories.
You're in charge of planning and executing events related to the magazine, including (but not limited to): open mic nights, magazine sales, and launch parties. You will work closely with the business manager and should be organized and confident in your ability to plan engaging events.
